Mini: Right now

Mini: Right now

July 15, 2019

This week’s reflective question is all about right now.  If time is a constant, why does it seem to speed up and slow down all the time?  And what about the present moment… not the past, not the future, but right now.  What are you going to use this moment for?

Reflective: Pausing

Reflective: Pausing

July 8, 2019

This week I caught a cold and found it quite challenging to speak, wondering what sound, if any, would come out of my throat – but this got me thinking about times, when, it’s actually a really good idea to deliberately pause before taking action.

Mini: Making Space

Mini: Making Space

July 1, 2019

This week I learned a valuable lesson – when recording an interview, make sure you’ve enough space left on your recording device. But this got me thinking.  On my recording device, I had many hours of old recordings that I just hadn’t bothered clearing out – so my memory card became full with stuff that wasn’t useful anymore.  Was this a metaphor for other stuff in my life?

Mini: Self-love

June 24, 2019

Welcome to this week’s mini-episode and curiosity challenge is about reflecting on what you love and appreciate about yourself?  As humans, we are truly amazing and complex.  We have many wonderful qualities and gifts that we bring to the world – so this week’s reflective question is simply a way to help us realise just how amazing we truly are.  We’re all really good at being our own self critics and identifying all the things don’t love about ourselves – so let’s take time instead to identify the things that we do love and appreciate about ourselves.

From banking to entertainment, a detour into HR consultancy, a brief period learning to make chocolate before starting her own business and becoming a coach.  Valerie O’Hanlon is a life and career coach having founded her own company, Clarence Consulting back in 2014. She then qualified as a coach in 2015 and went on to win the ICF Ireland career coach of the year in 2016. I had the pleasure of talking with her recently to get her insights and advise for those just starting out on their own coaching journey.
